WKU’s Schaefer named to CUSA All-Academic Team

Conference USA announced its 2024 All-Academic team on Friday, with Western Kentucky junior libero Abby Schaefer earning a spot for the first time in her career.
Schaefer currently has a 3.60 GPA as a nursing major and was previously named to the CUSA Honor Roll in 2022 and 2023 while also earning the academic medal in 2022.
Leading the Hilltoppers in single season digs with 324, she eclipsed the 1,000 career dig mark against Sam Houston on Nov. 8.
In addition to her role as the back row anchor, the junior has also collected two service aces and 52 assists.
Schaefer and the Hilltoppers finish out their 2024 season on Friday against Liberty after securing their sixth straight regular season title on Thursday. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
