A Bowling Green man was indicted Wednesday by a Warren County grand jury for allegedly raping and beating a woman.

Alberto Zamora-Landa, 25, 723 Center St., is charged with three counts of first-degree rape and one count of second-degree assault, according to the indictment.

A Bowling Green Police Department report said on July 23 Landa forced the woman, whom he knew, into his residence and forced her to have sex with him, according to a Bowling Green Police Department report.

The woman was able to get away and call police. When police arrived, Landa was laying on the bed holding a small steak knife, according to the report.

The 20-year-old woman suffered a broken nose, ruptured eardrum and bruises and scratches during the attack, according to the report. Blood was found on Landa’s shoe, on a carpet, on paper towels in the bedroom and on paper in the bathroom trash can.

Landa has been in Warren County Regional Jail on a $50,000 cash bond since the incident.
