POLICE NEWS: Overdose leads to two arrests

A Bowling Green couple was arrested on drug charges Saturday after one of them overdosed and was taken to the hospital.

Lorraine Ann Porter, 47, and Curtis Lee Pendergraft, 40, both of 1798 Old Louisville Road, Lot 3, were arrested Saturday morning at The Medical Center after police responded to Porter’s house because Pendergraft overdosed on drugs, according to a Bowling Green Police Department report.

After Pendergraft was taken to the hospital, Porter showed up to check on him but later passed out in the waiting room, according to the report.

When police searched Porter, they found a crack pipe with residue in Porter’s pocket. She was arrested and charged with public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia; Pendergraft was charged with shoplifting and being a persistent felony offender, based on a warrant issued earlier this month.

Criminal mischief – A Bowling Green man told police his yard in the 700 block of Gemini Court sustained $400 in damage by two people driving a yellow Volkswagen Beetle and a black Jeep between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. Dec. 23, according to a city police report.

Criminal mischief – A pair of safety glasses, earplugs, gloves and a duffle bag, valued at $30, were stolen from a Pontiac Grand Prix parked in the 2700 block of Industrial Drive between 11:30 p.m. Dec. 19 to 2 p.m. Dec. 20. The passenger side front window of the vehicle was smashed, causing $400 in damage.

Criminal mischief – A Bowling Green man reported on Friday that between Dec. 21 and Dec. 29, someone vandalized a mail box, valued at $50, on the 1700 block of Warren Road while the victim was out of town. The homeowner returned to find mail scattered in the yard. Several pieces of the mail had been opened and the contents stolen.

Criminal mischief – A Bowling Green man reported Thursday that between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. someone vandalized the front driver’s side of a 1996 Mercury Cougar on the 900 block of Bryant Way, cracking the turn signal and denting the fender, causing $300 in damage. The man said he observed some local juveniles playing ball near the car earlier, according to a police report.

Disorderly conduct – A Bowling Green man harassed employees at Ed Necco and Associates, located at 301 Pascoe Boulevard at 8:06 a.m. Dec. 22 in attempt to collect a personal debt, according to a police report. Police banned him from the property.

Forgery – A Bowling Green man told police Thursday that sometime between Nov. 20 and Dec. 15, someone forged several checks in his name, totaling $220. The victim suspected it may have been a former roommate, according to a police report.
