HORSE CAVE – Leon R. “Son” Scott, 97, of Horse Cave died at 12:05 p.m. Jan. 2, 2006, at a Hart County nursing home.
The Metcalfe County native was a retired farmer and member of Hiseville Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Alva Scott and Lillie Ethel Smith Scott and the husband of the late Ruby Scott. He was preceded in death by a brother, J.D. Scott.
Funeral is at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Winn Funeral Home, with entombment in the family mausoleum at Cosby Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today and at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include a sister, Kitsey McGee of Horse Cave; three nephews, Dr. John S. McGee of Hawaii, Phillip Lewis of Naples, Fla., and Joe David Scott of Cave City; three nieces, Carolyn England, Robin Hayes and Shannon Scott, all of Louisville; a sister-in-law, Jo Scott of Horse Cave; and several cousins.
