Man killed in motorcycle accident

A Bowling Green man was killed Wednesday in a motorcycle accident on Morgantown Road near the William Natcher Parkway toll plaza.

Robert Gill, 25, was north-bound at 10:33 p.m. when he lost control of his red Harley-Davidson and struck the center divider, according to Kentucky State Police in Bowling Green. Gill and his passenger Lisa Bryant, 30, of Brownsville were thrown from the motorcycle.

Gill was pronounced dead at the scene by Warren County Deputy Coroner Ralph Sizemore. Bryant was taken by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, where she is in critical condition.

Neither was wearing a helmet, according to a state police report.

Arrest – Joel W. Walker, 31, of Alvaton was charged today with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia at 1:45 a.m. in the 1500 block of Boyce-Fairview Road.

A deputy with the Warren County Sheriff’s Department pulled a vehicle over after it nearly forced the deputy off the road, according to a report.

The deputy issued a courtesy notice and then recognized Walker’s name from a previous drug complaint, according to the report. The deputy asked to search the vehicle, and Walker would not consent. The deputy found 3.6 grams of methamphetamine in his pocket.

Walker was released from Warren County Regional Jail on a $1,000 unsecured bond

Arrest – Mary Elizabeth Carter, 23, of Bowling Green was charged Wednesday with theft over $300 after allegedly shoplifting $525 worth of groceries from Kroger at 121 U.S. 31-W By-Pass.

Employees saw a woman, later identified as Carter, pushing a shopping cart full of groceries out of the store, according to a Bowling Green Police Department arrest citation.

Carter is in Warren County Regional Jail on a $1,500 cash bond, no bond for a probation violation and has a $1,000 hold for a 2005 traffic violation.

Arrest – Tyrous Shawan Massey, 21, 1500 Virginia Dr., and Duntay Lamar Massey, 19, 200 Proctor Trail, were charged today with first-degree burglary at 1:39 a.m. in the 1300 block of Kennilwood Way.

Police investigating a complaint of a fight in progress found several people arguing in the road, according to arrest citations.

A juvenile told police the two brothers forced their way into the apartment and threatened a woman with a pocket knife, according to citations.

Both are at the Warren County Regional Jail on $5,000 bonds.

Arrest – Derek Dwayne Lewis, 28, 4438 Morgantown Road, was charged Wednensday with second-degree robbery at in the 1200 block of Kentucky Street.

Lewis is accused of grabbing money from another man and running down Kentucky Street, according to a city police report. The man chased after Lewis and the two were struggling when police arrived, according to a police report.

He is at the Warren County Regional Jail on a $5,000 bond.
