Dr. Walter J. Kuebler II, 60, of Bowling Green died at 10:22 p.m. Sept. 14, 2004, at The Medical Center.
He was a retired physician, board certified in radiology and radiation oncology, and was an active consultant for Bard Pharmaceuticals.
He established radiation oncology in 1983 in the Bowling Green community. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Mississippi State University in 1966, a medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 1968 and served an internship with the U.S. Public Health Service Hospital.
From 1968-1969, he had a residency with the U.S. Public Health Service Hospital and Charity Hospital. He had a fellowship with University of Wisconsin hospitals from 1972-1974 and was on the active staff with USPHS Hospital in New Orleans, where he was in radiology, and was a visiting radiologist at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, where he was in therapeutic radiology.
He was associate member with Hotel Dieu Hospital in New Orleans, where he was in radiation oncology, and was on the consultant staff with Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette, La., where he was in radiotherapy.
He was also on the consultant staff with Lafayette Charity Hospital in Lafayette, in radiotherapy and was on the active staff with Lafayette General Hospital in radiotherapy.
He was on the consultant staff at St. Lukes Hospital in Milwaukee, where he was in radiotherapy, and was on the consultant courtesy staff at St. Marys Hospital in Milwaukee, where he was in radiotherapy.
He was on the active staff at The Medical Center at Bowling Green, where he was in radiation and oncology, and was on the active staff at Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, Bowling Green Radiation Therapy. He was also on the staff at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.
His certifications include American Board of Radiology in 1973 and American Board of Radiology Therapeutic Radiology 1974. He was on the Hospice Board and Capitol Arts Board and was a Eucharist minister at St. Thomas Aquinas Church.
He was a member of the Bowling Green Rotary Club, American Medical Association, Radiological Society of America and was treasurer of the State Radiology Group. He was a son of Walter Joseph Kuebler and Audrey Nicholas Kuebler of New Orleans, who survive.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, with burial in Franklin, La. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. today at J.C. Other survivors include his wife, Patti Giroir Kuebler; a son, Stephen Michael Kuebler, Ph.D, and his wife, Kristen, Ph.D, of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, Dr. Michelle Irene Kuebler Kimball and her husband, Maurice Kenneth III, of Pasadena, Calif.; a brother, Dr. Kevin M. Kuebler and his wife, Diane, of Olathe, Kan.; and a grandchild, Maurice Kenneth Kimball IV.
