POLICE NEWS: Woman tells police she was raped in parking lot

A Bowling Green woman told police she was raped Friday night in a parking lot after having car problems, according to a Bowling Green Police Department report.

The woman said her car’s check engine light came on at 11:30 p.m. Friday and she pulled into the Northgate Shopping Center parking lot at 3170 Louisville Road. She was approached by a man who grabbed her by the neck, forced her into her car and then raped her, she said. The man left the scene on foot. He was described as a white man with dark hair and a short goatee.

Arrest — Deandrea M. Williams, 19, 517 Waterford Place, was charged Saturday with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with physical evidence and trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 yards of a school, according to a city police report. Police responded to a complaint of terroristic threatening at 2:07 a.m. at Campus Point Apartments and discovered Williams carrying marijuana. When police took Williams to the Warren County Regional Jail, they found pills, believed to be Oxycodone, where Williams had been sitting in the police cruiser.

Williams remained in jailed today on a $1,000 bond.

Criminal possession of a forged instrument — A counterfeit $20 bill was passed Saturday at Sonic restaurant, 3394 Louisville Road, according to a city police report. The suspects who used the bill were described as a white man in his early 20s with short hair and tattoos on his right forearm and a white woman in her early 20s with long, dark hair and star tattoos behind her ear.

Fraud — A Bowling Green man reported someone used his debit card information to make $1,078 in purchases in Australia between Nov. 16 and Nov. 25, according to a city police report.

Theft — A ski boat and a camper, valued collectively at $1,100, were reported stolen from a home in the 200 block of Cherry Way between Nov. 14 and Nov. 23, according to a city police report.

Theft — A Yorkshire terrier puppy valued at $500 was reported stolen at noon Thursday in the 1500 block of Memphis Junction Road, according to a city police report. The victim said her 6-month-old puppy had gotten out of the home and did not answer when she called her name. The victim said she noticed a vehicle leaving the area as she was looking for her black and blonde puppy.

Theft of identity — A Bowling Green man reported a credit card had been fraudulently opened in his name, according to a city police report. The victim told police that he discovered a credit card had been opened in his name in 2007, and has tried many times to dispute the card as fraudulent with the credit card company.
