Allye Pennington made the most of her first game on a college court, providing the spark to lift Franklin-Simpson to a 68-68 overtime win over Greenwood on Monday at E.A. Diddle Arena.

The junior guard finished with 26 points, five 3-pointers and an 11-for-12 night from the free-throw line, to help the Lady Cats advance in the Region 4 Tournament.

“It was great,” Pennington said. “I was looking forward to this game. I put the work in. A gym is a gym. A ball is a ball and a goal is a goal, so I was just going to come in play my game. We didn’t want our season to end yet. I’m grateful to get to play one more game with my team.”

Franklin faces Allen County-Scottsville on Friday.
