Edmonson County held McLean County scoreless in overtime to claim a 53-43 win in the Region 3 Girls’ Basketball Tournament quarterfinals Monday at the Sportscenter in Owensboro.

The Lady Cats’ Addison Spainhoward sank a 3-pointer with seven seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 43-all, and from there it was all Edmonson County (21-8).

Cariann Williams finished with 21 points and eight rebounds to lead the Lady Cats into the regional semifinals. Shelby Sowders tallied 10 points and seven rebounds, and Spainhoward also scored 10 points in the win. The victory was Edmonson’s first in a regional tournament since 2018.

Edmonson County advances to face Owensboro Catholic in the Region 3 semifinals Friday at the Sportscenter.
