Minton leads Scotties into District 15 title game

Glasgow senior Landon Minton scored 17 points and pulled down eight rebounds as the top-seeded Scotties rolled to an 85-50 win against No. 4 seed Warren East in the District 15 Boys’ Basketball Tournament semifinals Tuesday at Glasgow High School.
Trevis Color and Jackson Norris added 11 points each, Jerrick Martin tallied 10 points and Jeremiah Moore finished with eight points in the win.
Glasgow (17-12) earned a spot in next week’s Region 4 tournament with the win.
The Scotties will host the winner of Wednesday’s semifinal matchup between No. 2 seed Allen County-Scottsville and No. 3 seed Barren County in Friday’s District 15 championship game.
Miyan Reynolds scored a game-high 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Warren East (1-26).
Franklin-Simpson 53, Russellville 50
No. 3 seed Franklin-Simpson held off second-seeded Russellville for a 53-50 win in the District 13 tournament semifinals Tuesday at Logan County High School.
Brody McAlister scored 12 points to lead the Wildcats, who earned a spot in the Region 4 tournament with the win. Donovan Dudley and Cole Sharer added 10 points each in the win.
Franklin-Simpson (9-14) will face tournament host and No. 1 seed Logan County in the District 13 championship on Friday.
Jerrius Coleman scored a game-high 17 points to lead Russellville (18-10). Jamarion Gardner also scored in double digits with 10 points and JaCoveon Temple-Dickerson finished with nine points.
Trinity (Whitesville) 75, Edmonson County 64
No. 3 seed Trinity (Whitesville) upended No. 2 seed Edmonson County 75-64 in the District 12 tournament semifinals Tuesday at Butler County High School.
Tyler Wilson scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Wildcats in the loss. Blayne Deweese tallied a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, Owen Ruth scored 11 points, Braden Wright just missed a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds, and Aidan Meredith scored nine points for Edmonson County (15-9) in the season-ending loss.
Grayson County 94, Butler County 44
Jagger Mardis scored a game-high 21 points for No. 1 seed Grayson County in Tuesday’s 94-44 win against No. 4 seed Butler County in the District 12 tournament semifinals at Butler County.
Grayson County junior Jack Logsdon, a Western Kentucky commit, set the new school career scoring record in the win. He finished with 16 points. The Cougars advance to face Trinity (Whitesville) in Friday’s district championship at Butler County.
Curtis Murphy scored 10 points to lead the Bears in the loss. Eli Oaks added nine points and Elijah Ferrell had seven points for Butler County (1-26).
Girls
Logan County 53, Russellville 48
Brenley Adler put together a double-double with 24 points and 13 rebounds to lead host Logan County to a 53-48 win against Russellville in the District 13 tournament semifinals on Tuesday.
Reese Wetton tallied 10 points and Anslee Buchanan finished with nine points for the Lady Cougars, who locked up a spot in the Region 4 tournament with the win.
Logan County (17-14), the No. 2 seed in the tournament, will host No. 1 seed Franklin-Simpson in the District 13 championship on Thursday.
