The Western Kentucky men’s golf team concluded the Military City Collegiate on Tuesday in San Antonio, Texas.

The Hilltoppers posted an 8-over par 296 for the second round and an 11-over 299 in the third to finish the tournament with a score of 41-over 905. WKU moved up four spots after the first round and tied for the best third round score in the field.

“Overall, it was a disappointing result, but I was glad to see the guys respond with the low round of the day to finish up the event,” WKU coach Austin King said in a news release. “Today played difficult with the conditions and demanded a lot of toughness and patience and we did a better job of that today, just unfortunately dug ourselves too big of a hole that first round to be in the mix. I truly believe this team is better than the result showed, I think today showed that, we just need to make some adjustments so we can continue to get better at handling the hard moments when they come.”

Will Easterlin led WKU at the tournament, posting a 1-under 71 in the second round and then a 3-over 75 in the third to bring his total score to 8-over 224. He finished in a tie for eighth place. He led the tournament field in total number of birdies with 13 through three rounds.
