Tops finish Day 1 at Military City Collegiate

The Western Kentucky men’s golf team completed the first round of the Military City Collegiate in San Antonio, Texas on Monday, posting a 22-over par 310 score for the round for a 12th place showing.

The participating teams had gotten through most of the second round before play was paused due to darkness and will wrap up the round and conclude with the third round on Tuesday.

Trevor Drew led the Hilltoppers in the first round, carding a 2-over 74 to put him in a tie for 18th place. In the second round, Drew shot a 4-over 76, bringing his total to 6-over 150.

Rafe Blankenship shot a 5-over 77 for the first round, tying for 42nd place. Blankenship carded another 77 for the second round, bringing his total to 10-over 154.

Will Easterlin recorded a 6-over 78 for the first round, tying for 52nd place. Easterlin bounced back in the second round, shooting a 1-under 71 to bring his total score to a team-leading 5-over 149.

Ethan Smith, playing as an individual, posted a 70-over 79 for the first round, tying for 57th place. Smith will complete round two on Tuesday morning.

Gage Doyle shot an 9-over 81 for the first round and then a 1-over 73 for the second, bringing his total score to 10-over 154.

Joseph Agee carded an 9-over 81 for the first round, tying for 63rd place. Agee posted a 4-over 76 in the second round, bringing his total score to 13-over 157.

The Hilltoppers will finish out the tournament on Tuesday in San Antonio.
