Lady Tops move up 3 spots at Lake Reynolds Oconee Invitational

The Western Kentucky women’s golf team posted a team score of 8-over par 296 in the second round of the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational hosted by Mercer on Saturday in Eatonton, Georgia.
The Lady Toppers began the round on Friday but finished on Saturday due to inclement weather in the area. WKU heads into the final round on Sunday in 10th place with an overall score of 606 (+30).
The team moved up three spots on the leaderboard after shaving 14 strokes off their second-round score compared to Friday’s 310 (+22) first-round score.
WKU senior Sydney Hackett bounced back in the second round, carding a 3-under 69 with four birdies in the round. That brings her tournament score to 2-over 146, putting her in a tie for 11th place.
Leah Edwards shot another 3-over 75 for the second round after posting a 75 in the first round. Her 6-over 150 score puts her in a tie for 27th place.
Nina McMurtrey shaved eight strokes off her second-round score, shooting a 1-over 73 for the round. Her 9-over 154 score puts her in a tie for 51st place going into the final round on Sunday.
Grace Frei carded an 11-over 83 for the second round, bringing her total score to 16-over 160 for a tie for 70th place.
Kaylee Dwyer shot a 7-over 79 for the round. Her total score of 18-over 162 is tied for 75th place.
The Lady Toppers will conclude the tournament with Round 3 on Sunday.
