The Ramsey Theatre Company is gearing up for its first ever touring show as its production of “Steel Magnolias” is set to kick off this weekend at SKyPAC before heading to Owensboro’s Riverpark Center on Feb. 28.

Steel Magnolias was written by playwright Robert Harling in the 1980s and was adapted into a 1989 film starring Sally Field and Dolly Parton.

Ramsey’s production will be directed by Tim Altmeyer, whose career has spanned from Broadway theater to film and television.

Steel Magnolias will premiere at SKyPAC on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. A second show is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Tickets for both shows at SKyPAC can be purchased online at www.theskypac.com.
