Greenwood senior forward Ava Morrison commanded the post during a Jan. 22 win against District 14 rival South Warren at South Warren High School.

Morrison scored 11 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to finish with a double-double, helping the Lady Gators remain in the hunt for the top spot in district play.

“I give credit to my dad,” Morrison said. “My dad was my coach for the longest time. He’s always told me to box out and push back, even if it is a 6-foot girl who is a lot bigger than me. You just have to work hard.”

Greenwood is scheduled to face Bowling Green at 6 p.m. on Friday with the district title on the line.
