Trojans claim double-OT road win

Barren County’s boys’ basketball team snapped six-game losing streak with a 79-70 double-overtime win against host Campbellsville on Monday night.

Gavin Nunn paced the Trojans with 23 points in the win. Kade Hardy tallied 19 points, Cameron Pippen chipped in with 14 points and Weston Shelton finished with 13 points in the win.

The Trojans led by 18 points (43-25) in the third quarter before the homestanding Eagles rallied to force overtime. In the second OT period, Barren outscored Campbellsville 15-6 to secure the win.

Barren County (10-8) is home against District 15 rival Glasgow on Friday.

Girls

Barren County 58, Campbellsville 57

Shelby Byrd tallied 20 points to lead visiting Barren County to a 58-57 win against Campbellsville on Monday.

Addy Slagle added 14 points, and Mahalia Burton and Addyson McFall chipped in with seven points each for the Trojanettes.

Barren County (17-2), which has won five straight games, will be at District 15 rival Glasgow on Friday.

Logan County 62, Butler County 51

Brenley Adler scored 18 points to boost visiting Logan County to a 62-51 win against Butler County on Monday.

Alissa Hampton also scored in double digits with 12 points for the Lady Cougars. Anslee Buchanan added nine points and Reese Wetton had eight points in the win.

Logan County (10-8) was slated to host Ohio County on Tuesday.

Butler County (7-9) hosts District 12 rival Trinity (Whitesville) on Friday.

Blazers 63, Caverna 41

Brooke Edge scored 26 points and dished out five assists to lead the Warren County-based home school program Bluegrass Blazers to a 63-41 win against host Caverna on Monday.

Heidi Wilson added a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Kaia Stover also scored 11 points in the win.

The Blazers are home Saturday to face the UC Rams.

Grayson County 42, Bowling Green 27

Homestanding Grayson County claimed a 42-27 win against Bowling Green on Monday.

Jooniper Strow scored 14 points to lead the Lady Purples in the loss.

Bowling Green (8-9) is home to face District 14 rival Warren Central on Friday.
