Human remains were discovered Thursday in a wooded area of the county, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office said.

In a social media post, the sheriff’s office said that it was notified Thursday morning that someone had come across suspected human remains in a heavily wooded area off the 7300 block of Richardsville Road.

WCSO deputies and detectives responded, as did the Warren County Coroner’s Office, and the remains were verified as those of a person.

The sheriff’s office said that it does not suspect foul play and that there was no threat to the community in connection with the remains, which will be sent for a forensic examination.

Authorities did not release the identity of the person whose remains were found.
