After making some big plays on the road for a month, Warren Central junior Armani Byrd finally got to excite the home crowd in Friday’s 69-45 win over Bowling Green.

Byrd finished with a game-high 16 points and added six rebounds in Warren Central’s home opener. The point total included a pair of highlight reel dunks – one in transition off a steal and the second coming on an offensive rebound over several defenders.

The highlight reel dunk has become a staple in Byrd’s arsenal this season – a trend he hopes to continue.

“That is my favorite thing to do, turn the crowd up,” Byrd said.

The Dragons continue District 14 play at South Warren on Friday.
