Seven candles were lit at 11th Street Baptist Church Tuesday night in reflection of Kwanzaa’s principles of unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity and faith during the Bowling Green Community Kwanzaa Committee’s 24th annual community celebration of the African-American holiday Kwanzaa. The event also featured musical and dance performances, poems, prayer, a tribute to ancestors and a feast.
