Weston Shelton had the fourth-most points for Barren County in Thursday’s 56-55 home win against Allen County-Scottsville, but the sophomore guard came up with the biggest basket of the night.

Shelton drilled the game-winning 3-pointer with four seconds to go to lead the Trojans to the District 15 win.

“I knew it was going in as soon as it left,” Shelton said. “I can just tell. I don’t know, it was a big shot. I just knew I was going to hit it.”

Shelton, who finished with eight points, led Barren County (5-2) in scoring the previous two games with a combined 40 points against Edmonson County and South Warren.

The Trojans play Springfield (Tennessee) on Friday in the H&H Holiday Hoopfest at Logan County.
