Hulbert hits game-winner for Dragons

Warren Central senior guard Ryan Hulbert drilled a game-winning 3-pointer in the final second to lift the Dragons to a 63-60 boys’ basketball win in the King of the Bluegrass Holiday Classic consolation bracket championship on Monday at Fairdale High School in Louisville.
Armani Byrd led Central with 15 points. Dominique Anthony tallied 12 points, Jeremiah McCombs finished with nine points, nine rebounds and five assists, Kaleb Prince also scored nine points, and Ryan Hulbert finished with seven points and four assists in the win.
Byrd was named to the all-tournament team, a group that also included Grayson County junior Jack Logsdon – a Western Kentucky commit.
Warren Central (6-1) won three games in the King of the Bluegrass after opening the tournament with a loss to eventual runner-up Louisville St. Xavier. The Dragons responded with wins against Grayson County, LaRue County and Butler.
Warren Central is back in action at home to face District 14 rival Bowling Green on Jan. 2.
Greenwood 86, Adair County 79
Ethan York tallied a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds to boost visiting Greenwood to an 86-79 win against Adair County on Monday.
York also notched two assists, two steals and two blocks in the win.
Greenwood (6-2) is scheduled to next face Everett (Washington) in the Surf ’N Slam San Diego Hoop Classic on Saturday in California.
