Western Kentucky women’s basketball has announced two new additions to the incoming class for the 2025-26 season, adding South Florida transfer Jeniffer Silva and Finland native Enni Ahervuo on Friday.
Silva is a 6-foot-4 forward from Recife, Brazil. She spent the 2024-25 season at South Florida after transferring from South Plains Community College. She played in eight games last season. In 2023-24, Silva started in 29 games and appeared in 31 at South Plains. She averaged 9.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. In 2022-23, she averaged 8.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
Ahervuo is a 5-foot-10 guard from Espoo, Finland, who will be an incoming freshman with the Lady Toppers. Her mother, Jana Heikkila, played at WKU from 1993-94 to 1996-97 under head coach Paul Sanderford.
Ahervuo most recently played in the Finnish Top League for Tapoilan Honka. With the team, she averaged 6.1 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. She also played in the U19 Finnish Championship League, playing and starting in 11 games. In that league, she averaged 18.5 points per game, 8.6 rebounds and 2.9 steals. Ahervuo has also played 32 games with the Finnish junior national team.
WKU has added four players since the end of the season. Former Miss Basketball Trinity Rowe, a transfer guard from Southern Miss, and Elif Naz Dal, a 6-foot-3 post player from Adana, Turkey, signed last month.
Western Kentucky finished 23-9 last season, losing three players – Alexis Mead, Destiny Salary and Mariama Sow – to graduation and three players – Josie Gilvin, MacKenzie Chatfield and Acacia Hayes – in the transfer portal.
