Gators beat South Warren to earn series split

Chaze Huff had two hits and drove in two runs, leading Greenwood to a 4-2 win over South Warren on Wednesday at Greenwood High School.
Zachary Davis added two hits and a run scored for Greenwood (19-5 overall, 3-1 District 14), who earned a split in the two game series with Wednesday’s win. South Warren (17-5, 2-2) took the series opener 2-0 on Monday.
Canon Jaggers aded a hit and an RBI, while Easton Talley also drove in a run for the Gators.
Davis earned the win on the mound, tossing five shutout innings. He allowed four hits with three walks and three strikeouts. Jackson Lee earned the save, allowing two runs in two innings of work.
Greenwood was scheduled to host Allen County-Scottsville on Thursday, while South Warren is scheduled to host Adair County at 6 p.m. on Friday.
Bowling Green 19, Warren Central 0
Grayson Newman had three doubles and five RBIs to lead the Purples to a three inning district win over the Dragons.
Evan Schallert had three hits and an RBI for Bowling Green (14-8 overall, 3-1 District 14), while Andru Jones had two hits and three RBIs. Drew Isenberg, two hits and two RBIs, and Landon Gilbert, two hits and an RBI, also recorded multi-hit games for the Purples.
Three pitchers combined on the one-hitter, with Chris Cohron earning the win.
Bowling Green was scheduled to host Logan County on Thursday. Warren Central (0-7, 0-4) was scheduled to host Todd County Central on Thursday.
Warren East 4, Glasgow 0
Brenden Bratcher tossed a four hit shutout and added two hits and two runs scored to lead the Raiders to a win on Wednesday at Warren East.
Bratcher struck out four and walked one to improve to 3-4 on the season.
William Alexander had two hits and two RBIs for Warren East (6-13 overall, 2-2 District 15) who completed the season sweep against the Scotties.
Garrett Shields had a hit and a stolen base for Glasgow (7-15, 1-3).
Glasgow was scheduled to play at Monroe County on Thursday. Warren East was scheduled to host Franklin-Simpson on Thursday.
Softball
South Warren 19, Bowling Green 0
The Spartans had 14 hits, including five homers, and Courtney Norwood retired all nine batters she faced as South Warren cruised to a district win over the Lady Purples.
Layla Odgen had three hits – including two homers – and three RBIs for South Warren (20-2 overall, 4-0 District 14). Kinleigh Russell had two hits, including a homer, and drove in four. Hayden Holloway added a double, a homer and a pair of RBIs while Jordan Shehan finished with a homer and three RBIs.
McLaine Hudson recorded a multi-hit game with two RBIs, while Hadley Borders had two hits and three runs scored.
Norwood struck out five batters in her three innings of work, improving to 12-1 on the season.
South Warren was scheduled to host Greenwood on Thursday. Bowling Green (12-10, 1-3) was scheduled to play at Warren Central on Thursday.
