A man was struck and killed Tuesday by a vehicle while walking on Nashville Road.

According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, witnesses saw a man leave Dollar General, 11830 Nashville Road, and walk into the northbound lane around 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Vehicles swerved to miss the man, identified as Paul Horacio Caputto, 57, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, but he was struck by a vehicle that was unable to stop, WCSO said.

Witnesses stopped to perform life-saving measures, and Caputto was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
