Western Kentucky’s men’s basketball program has announced the signing of LSU transfer Noah Boyde.
A native of Monchy, St. Lucia, Boyde joins the Hilltopper roster for 2025-26 with two years of eligibility remaining.
“Noah has a chance to be a very special player here at WKU,” head coach Hank Plona said in a news release. “He has a combination of talent, athleticism, intelligence and size that is very hard to find. He can score the ball and has great touch on offense.”
Prior to joining the Tigers’ roster for 2024-25, Boyde spent two years at McCook Community College in Nebraska and averaged 11.2 points and 8.5 rebounds per contest in two seasons. The 7-foot-0 center finished junior college competition averaging a 56.0% clip from the field while posting 23 double-figure scoring efforts and 14 games with double-digit rebounding totals.
In 2022-23, Boyde averaged 10.9 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game for the season and was named to the FAB 50 list of JUCO freshmen through JucoRecruiting.com. Boyd followed the standout freshman season with an average of 12.6 points and 6.2 rebounds per game for the 2023-24 season before being limited for the remainder of the year with an injury.
Boyde appeared in five contests for LSU in 2024-25. The junior big posted a season high of six points and one rebound facing Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 29.
“As Noah continues to get his rhythm back and get comfortable on the court, we expect Noah to be a big factor in many wins for our team next season,” Plona said. “Noah’s best basketball is in front of him, and we can’t wait to get him to campus and begin our journey with him.”
MARSHALL COMMITS TO GW
Former WKU standout forward Tyrone Marshall Jr. announced his commitment to play at George Washington next season.
Marshall made the announcement on his Instagram account Wednesday.
A Nashville native, the 6-7 Marshall spent three seasons playing at WKU. After gaining an extra season of eligibility due to the NCAA’s ruling to grant an extra year of eligibility to former junior college athletes for the 2025-26 season, Marshall entered the transfer portal on April 1.
This past season as a graduate senior, Marshall earned All-Conference USA Honorable Mention honors after appearing in all 32 games for the Tops, making 29 starts and averaging the second-most minutes on the team at 28.7 per game. He finished sixth in CUSA for rebounding with 6.6 per contest and 212 total for the season and third in the league for defensive rebounding with 177 total and 5.5 per contest, good for 76th most in the nation. Marshall, who averaged 10.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, finished second on the team in both blocks and steals with 20 and 38 respectively. He posted a career-high 24 points in the Tops’ 101-69 victory over CUSA opponent New Mexico State on Feb. 1.
As a senior in the 2023-24 season, Marshall played in all 34 games for WKU, starting in 33 contests. He averaged the third-most minutes (24.5), points (8.8) and assists (2.2) on the team, and led the Tops in blocks (36) and steals (50) while earning All-CUSA Honorable Mention for the season. Marshall posted a season-high 21 points in the Tops’ NCAA Tournament First Round matchup with No. 2-seeded Marquette.
A transfer from Colby (Kansas) Community College, Marshall played his first season at WKU under former head coach Rick Stansbury and saw action in all 33 games, averaging 3.0 points and 2.7 rebounds.
