Western Kentucky’s men’s golf wrapped up the first day of the Conference USA Championships at Texarkana Country Club in eighth place following an 11-over par 299 in Texarkana, Arkansas.

Nic Hofman is WKU’s top individual, tied for ninth, after he carded a 1-under 71.

Hofman tied for the tournament lead playing the par 3s at 1-under on Monday. He was also tied for fourth on the par 5s, playing those holes at 2-under.

WKU’s Gage Doyle had 14 pars on Monday, tied for second most in the 45-player field.

The Hilltoppers were second best in the field on par 3 scoring on Monday at 3-over. WKU was also 1-under on the Ppar 5s.

WKU is tied with leader, Liberty, for the most pars after 18 holes with 59. The Hilltoppers also had the second fewest bogeys.

WKU will tee off starting at 10 a.m. CT on Tuesday and play with Kennesaw State and Jacksonville State. Following Wednesday’s round, the top four teams will advance to match play on Thursday.
