Gators get past Raiders for 4-3 win

Greenwood senior Easton Talley went 2-for-4 with two runs batted in to help the host Gators take a 4-3 baseball decision against Warren East on Thursday.

Zachary Davis was 2-for-3 with a double, Andrew Jolly went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three stolen bases, Jake Flickinger notched a double, and Jackson Lee and Chaze Huff each added an RBI in the win.

Lee picked up the win in relief, allowing one run over two innings while striking out one.

Greenwood (14-2) faces host University Heights and then Paducah Tilghman on Saturday.

Warren East (3-11) was slated to host South Warren on Friday.

Franklin-Simpson 14, Monroe County 0

Brady Delk and Luke Perkins combined on a two-hit shutout as visiting Franklin-Simpson rolled to a 14-0 win against Monroe County on Thursday.

Delk started and pitched six innings, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out six batters. Perkins finished up with a scoreless inning of relief.

Griff Banton went 2-for-4 with an RBI, Liam Heinze tallied a double and three RBIs, and Kolton Turner, Boy Blanckenberg, Jaxon Gass, Braylon Turner, Brody McAlister and Delk each drove in a run.

Franklin-Simpson (10-7) was set to visit Glasgow on Friday.

Logan County 12, ACS 2

Noah Mosley and Drew McLellan combined to drive in eight runs, boosting host Logan County to 12-2 win against Allen County-Scottsville on Thursday.

Mosley was 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs, while McLellan went 2-for-4 with four RBIs. Lyndon Wilson was 2-for-2 with a double, Tripp Wadlington went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Eric Walker added an RBI for the Cougars.

Jonas Hayes got the win in relief, pitching 2 1/3 scoreless innings. He struck out two.

Logan County (10-5) was set to host Kirkwood (Tennessee) on Friday.

ACS (3-12) was scheduled to host Macon County (Tennessee) on Friday.

Barren County 5, Grayson County 4

Skylar Potter went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI as visiting Barren County picked up a 5-4 win against Grayson County on Thursday.

Sutton Hyde was 2-for-2, JP Hyde and Jordan Harris each added a double and an RBI, and Jackson Reece also drove in a run for the Trojans.

JP Hyde picked up the win in relief, allowing one run over two innings. He struck out one.

Barren County (11-7) was set to host Monroe County on Friday.

Softball

Warren East 7, Glasgow 0

Autumn Brooks pitched a three-hit shutout to lead visiting Warren East to a 7-0 win against District 15 rival Glasgow on Thursday.

Brooks struck out nine in the complete-game win.

Tristen Lindsey was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs, Kynleigh Barrick went 2-for-3 and scored two runs, Brooklynn Neville was 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Jordan Brooks and Kennedy Lawson each picked up an RBI.

Warren East (12-4 overall, 2-1 District 15) is at Franklin-Simpson on Monday.

Glasgow (1-10, 0-3) is at district rival Allen County-Scottsville on Monday.

Westmoreland 6, Franklin-Simpson 2

Westmoreland (Tennessee) claimed a 6-2 win against host Franklin-Simpson on Thursday.

Allie Utley went 2-for-3, and Jayden Kough and Kloie Smith each drove in a run for the Lady Wildcats in the loss.

Franklin-Simpson (6-8) was slated to host Butler County on Friday.
