Patricia Marie “Patty” Day (Fleenor)

BOWLING GREEN – Patricia “Patty” Marie Fleenor Day, 94, of Bowling Green, strengthened by the grace of God and fortified by the sacraments of the Church, passed into the loving arms of her Eternal Father April 15, 2025.

She was born February 16, 1931 to the late Nelson Fleenor and Alberta Burch Fleenor. In addition to her parents, Patty is preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Day; children Rose Marie Wakefield and Daniel Day; siblings Nelson Jr, Angela, Martha (Gibbs), Kenneth, Francis, Robert, and Joan (Ruff). Those left to cherish Patty’s memory include a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews, other extended family members and dear friends.

Patty was a 1945 graduate of St. Joseph School in Bowling Green and a 1948 graduate of Nazareth Academy in Bardstown, Kentucky. A fervent Roman Catholic, she was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bowling Green where she served in various capacities, especially the St. Vincent de Paul Society dedicated to serving the impoverished in our community.

Among Patty’s many hobbies were music and gardening, both of which she loved deeply. For many years she worked as a main dispatcher for multiple commercial trucking companies based out of Evansville, Indiana.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am Monday, April 28, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bowling Green. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery to follow. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of J. C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Patty’s memory may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 434 Church Avenue, Bowling Green, KY 42101.
