Newman boosts Purples to road win against Scotties

Bowling Green senior Grayson Newman doubled, homered and drove in five runs as the Purples topped host Glasgow 14-3 in five innings Tuesday.
Logan Johnson went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, Evan Schallert was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Drew Isenberg went 2-for-3 with an RBI, Hudson Nottmeier was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Landon Gilbert and Harrison Yates each notched a double, and Jams Yarbrough added an RBI.
Eli Kries started and earned the win after pitching four scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and no walks while striking out three batters.
Bowling Green (9-5) was set to host Owensboro Catholic on Wednesday.
Carter Hodges wen 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Landon Martin added an RBI for the Scotties. Glasgow (5-10) was scheduled to host LaRue County on Wednesday.
Greenwood 5, ACS 0
Zach Davis fired a complete-game shutout to lead host Greenwood to a 5-0 win against Allen County-Scottsville on Tuesday.
Davis pitched seven innings, allowing six hits and no walks while fanning five to earn the win. At the plate, Davis chipped in with an RBI.
Whitt Glosick was 2-for-3 with a double to pace the Gators. Henry Justice had a double and an RBI, and Chaze Huff and Jackson Lee each drove in a run.
Greenwood (13-2) is home against Warren East on Thursday.
ACS (3-11) is at Logan County on Thursday.
South Warren 10, Franklin-Simpson 0
Mikey Coradini fired a six-inning shutout to lead homestanding South Warren to a 10-0 win against Franklin-Simpson on Tuesday.
Coradini allowed just four hits and no walks while striking out three to earn the win.
Ty Croghan was 4-for-4 and scored two runs, Jaxen Decker went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs, and Griffin Rardin tallied a double and three RBIs for the Spartans. Braeden Jones added a double and an RBI in the win.
South Warren (13-2) is at Warren East on Friday.
Franklin-Simpson (9-7) is on the road at Monroe County on Thursday.
Barren County 10, Warren East 6
Jackson Reece went 4-for-4 with four RBIs to spark host Barren County to a 10-6 home win against District 15 rival Warren East on Tuesday.
Aiden Keeney went 3-for-4 for the Trojans, Sutton Hyde tallied two RBIs, JP Hyde and Skylar Potter each had a double and an RBI, Gavin Coffey had a double and Jordan Harris tallied an RBI.
Cameron Crawford started and earned the win, allowing five runs (one earned) off six hits and no walks over 5 1/3 innings. He struck out five.
Barren County (10-7 overall, 2-0 District 15) is at Grayson County on Thursday.
Will Alexander was 4-for-4 with a solo home run, Carter Bessette went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, and Connor Fox went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Warren East (3-10, 0-2) is at Greenwood on Thursday.
Logan County 7, Christian County 5
Lyndon Wilson and Tate McLean each tallied a double and two RBIs as host Logan County picked up a 7-5 win against Christian County on Tuesday.
Noah Mosley added a double and an RBI, and Drew McLellan also drove in a run for the Cougars.
McLean started and earned the win, allowing five runs (two earned) over six innings. he struck out three. Jonas Hayes pitched a scoreless seventh in relief to earn the save.
Logan County (9-5) is home to face Allen County-Scottsville on Thursday.

South Warren 20, Central Hardin 0
McLaine Hudson tallied two home runs and a double to drive in nine runs in South Warren’s 20-0 win in three innings against host Central Hardin on Tuesday.
Courtney Norwood pitched three scoreless, hitless innings to earn the win. She struck out five.
Jenna Lindsey was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, Hayden Holloway went 2-for-3 with a double, Layla Ogden hit a home run and drove in two runs, and Parker Willoughby also had two RBIs.
South Warren (14-2) hosts District 14 foe Bowling Green on Thursday.
Barren County 10, Warren East 4
Homestanding Barren County picked up a 10-4 win against District 15 rival Warren East on Tuesday.
Autumn Brooks was 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and two RBIs for the Lady Raiders in the loss. Kennedy Lawson was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Lydia Jones went 2-for-2.
Warren East (11-4, 1-1) is at district foe Glasgow on Thursday.
Barren County (11-3, 2-0) hosts district rival Allen County-Scottsville on Thursday.
Butler County 7, Glasgow 6
Callyn Smith was 3-for-4 with three RBIs to help host Butler County earn a 7-6 win against Glasgow on Tuesday.
Karrington Hunt had a triple and drove in two runs and Miley Franzell added an RBI for the Lady Bears.
Smith earned the win in relief, tossing three scoreless innings while striking out two.
Butler County (5-9) hosts District 12 rival Edmonson County on Thursday.
Glasgow (1-9) is home against District 15 foe Warren East on Thursday.
Franklin-Simpson 6, Logan County 5
Allie Utley went 3-for-4 and stole three bases as host Franklin-Simpson topped District 13 rival Logan County 6-5 on Tuesday.
Kaitlyn Woodall added a solo home run and Kloie Smith drove in a run and stole two bases.
Smith got the start and earned the win, allowing four runs over 5 1/3 innings. She struck out four.
Franklin-Simpson (6-7, 1-1) faces Westmoreland, Tennessee, on Thursday.
Logan County (3-10, 1-2) will play in the Mustang Stampede on Saturday at Muhlenberg County.
Boys’ volleyball
ACS 3, Hart County 0
Tyler Shaw and Carter BoBerg notched 10 kills apiece as visiting Allen County-Scottsville earned a 3-0 (26-24, 25-18, 25-23) win against Hart County on Tuesday.
Ayden Johnston added five kills and 10 digs, Victor Palacios had 24 assists eight digs and eight aces, and Brody Holland totaled 12 digs for the Patriots.
ACS (4-5) is home Saturday to host the Patriot Classic.
