Western Kentucky softball player Kennedy Stinson has been named the Conference USA Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

It is the first time Stinson has received the honor this season.

Over the three-game series against Middle Tennessee, Stinson posted a .700 batting average with seven hits in 10 at-bats that included a two-run home run, a solo homer and a double.

She also posted a 1.400 slugging percentage, collecting 14 total bases along the way.

Stinson is currently second on the team in slugging percentage at .475 and is fifth in batting average at .273. She’s also second on the team in home runs with five.
