Western Kentucky’s men’s basketball program announced the signing of Stonehill College transfer Louie Semona on Tuesday.
A native of Cincinnati, Semona joins the Hilltopper roster for the 2025-26 season with two years of eligibility remaining after spending two seasons competing for Stonehill in the Northeast Conference.
“We’re excited about Louie’s future as a Hilltopper,” WKU coach Hank Plona said in a news release. “Louie has worked hard to improve year-by-year and was an all-league player as a sophomore. He can play multiple positions, shoots the ball with great range and competes to win on both ends of the floor.”
A standout on the Skyhawks’ roster, Semona appeared in 32 games for Stonehill as a sophomore in 2024-25 while averaging a team-best 13.2 points with 4.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest. Semona scored in double figures in 21 total contests on the year, including a season-high 33 points facing Le Moyne on March 1, while leading Stonehill in 3-point makes with 60 total for the year at a 37.5% clip. The sophomore forward ended the season earning All-NEC Second-Team honors for the season.
Semona appeared in 31 games for Stonehill as a freshman in 2023-24 while averaging 4.5 points and 2.6 rebounds for the season. Prior to enrolling at Stonehill, Semona attended St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati where he earned First-Team All-Greater Catholic League (GCL) honors. Semona also played a season of prep at St. Thomas More in 2023 before signing with the Skyhawks.
