Western Kentucky’s men’s golf wrapped up a rainy day one of the Irish Creek Collegiate in 12th place on Monday in Kannapolis, North Carolina.

The event was supposed to feature 36 holes of play on Monday, but was shortened to just 18 due to the conditions.

In the play-six, count-four format, WKU played at a disadvantage after Stephen Warren withdrew midway through his round.

Freshman Trevor Drew led the way with a 2-over par 72 and is tied for 20th. He tallied three birdies on the day to lead the Hilltoppers.

The Club at Irish Creek course played tough on Monday, as only six players in the 100-player field were under par.

The Hilltoppers are back in action Tuesday for the final round of the Irish Creek Collegiate.
