Raiders pick up 7-6 win against Bruins

Warren East sophomore Briggs Young went 3-for-4 at the plate with a pair of runs batted in to boost the host Raiders to a 7-6 baseball win against Central Hardin on Monday.

William Alexander also went 3-for-4 with one RBI for East. Carter Bessette, Dane Parsley and Connor Fox notched one RBI each.

Brooks Vincent picked up the win after pitching one scoreless inning of relief. He struck out two batters.

Warren East (3-4) was set to host Greenwood on Tuesday.

Hilliard Darby 5, Bowling Green 2

Visiting Hilliard Darby (Ohio) picked up a 5-2 win against Bowling Green on Monday.

Evan Schallert went 2-for-4 to lead the Purples in the loss. Markell Yates and Hudson Nottmeier tallied one RBI each.

Nottmeier started and pitched four innings in a no-decisiion, allowing two runs (one earned) while striking out a pair.

Bowling Green (5-2) was slated to host Louisville St. Xavier on Tuesday.

Softball

South Warren 17, Logan County 0

Layla Ogden went 3-for-4 with a home run and six RBIs to lead South Warren to a 17-0 win in four innings against Logan County on Monday.

McLaine Hudson was 3-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs, Kinleigh Russell went 3-for-3 with a double, four runs scored and an RBI, Hadley Borders was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Hayden Holloway homered and drove in three runs, and Kaylee Wilson added a double and an RBI in the win.

Spartans starting pitcher Courtney Norwood earned a complete-game win, allowing no runs off two hits and no walks while striking out nine.

South Warren (8-1) hosts Franklin-Simpson on Thursday.

Logan County (1-6) was scheduled to visit District 13 rival Russellville on Tuesday.
