Boyd’s 4 goals lift Lady Purples over Spartans

Bowling Green sophomore Piper Boyd netted four goals to boost the host Lady Purples to a 10-2 girls’ lacrosse win against South Warren on Thursday.
Macy Lindsey added three goals in the win. Eva McCay chipped in with two goals and Katie Blair White notched a goal and an assist for the Lady Purples.
Goalkeeper Abby Lindsey finished with six saves for Bowling Green (4-0), which next hosts Greenwood on April 16.
South Warren (5-4) hosts Greenwood on Tuesday.
Softball
ACS 12, Glasgow 1
Maddie Gray hit two home runs and drove in three runs to pace visiting Allen County-Scottsville to a 12-1 win in five innings against District 15 rival Glasgow on Thursday.
Addison Law went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI, Payton Hopkins was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, two runs scored and an RBI, and Ally Anderson went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Shiloh Knievel and Jacie Rice each added a double and an RBI, and Aubrey Williams tallied two RBIs for the Lady Patriots.
Addison Ausbrooks started and pitched two scoreless innings to earn the win. She struck out two batters. Brooklyn Oliver finished up with four strikeouts over two scoreless innings to earn the save.
ACS (6-0 overall, 1-0 District 15) visits Franklin-Simpson on Saturday.
Glasgow (0-5, 0-1) has home games against Bowling Green and LaRue County on Saturday.
Assumption 14, South Warren 13
Visiting South Warren fell short in a extra-inning slugfest against Louisville Assumption, losing 14-13 in eight innings on Thursday.
Hayden Holloway homered twice and drove in five runs as part of a 3-for-5 day for the Spartans in the loss. McLaine Hudson was 4-for-5 with a triple, a double and an RBI, Kinleigh Russell went 3-for-5 with a home run, three runs scored and a pair of RBIs, Hadley Borders was 2-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored, Layla Ogden went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs, Parker Willoughby was 2-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI, Jenna Lindsey tallied a double and an RBI, and Kaylee Wilson also drove in a run.
South Warren (5-1) visits Pulaski County to play twice Saturday, taking on host Pulaski and then facing Frederick Douglass.
Butler County 6, Franklin-Simpson 1
Jenna Tomes connected for a double and drove in two runs to help host Butler County top Franklin-Simpson 6-1 on Thursday.
Karrington Hunt went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI. Emmalin Mode was 2-for-4, and Carley Cardwell and Miley Franzell each stole two bases and drove in a run for the Lady Bears.
Callyn Smith started and pitched four scoreless innings to earn the win, striking out two.
Butler County (2-4) was slated to host District 12 foe Grayson County on Friday.
Franklin-Simpson (5-3) hosts Allen County-Scottsville on Saturday.
Muhlenberg County 7, Logan County 4
Host Muhlenberg County claimed a 7-4 win against Logan County on Thursday.
Madelyn Burgess went 2-for-4 with two doubles and and RBI, and Kallie Taylor was also 2-for-4 for the Lady Cougars. Macie Clinard and Brenley Adler each tallied an RBI and a double.
Logan County (1-5) hosts South Warren on Monday.
Owensboro 19, Bowling Green 9
Homestanding Owensboro picked up a 19-9 win in five innings against Bowling Green on Thursday.
Addison Darnall was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI for the visiting Lady Purples. Caroline Sharber was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Amparo DeJesus went 2-for-3 and scored twice, Natalie Klein was 2-for-3 with a double, Hadley Morrison tallied two RBIs, and JaNyah Perkins and Lola Kington each drove in a run.
Bowling Green (2-4) visits Glasgow on Saturday to face the host Lady Scotties and later LaRue County.

Bowling Green 2, Daviess County 1
Host Bowling Green made the most of two hits to beat Daviess County 2-1 on Thursday.
Purples starting pitcher Drew Isenberg worked five innings, allowing one run while fanning seven in a no-decision. Andru Jones pitched two scoreless innings of relief to earn the win.
Evan Schallert ws 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs score, while Isenberg tallied the lone RBI for BG.
Bowling Green (4-1) was slated to visit Warren East on Friday.
Barren County 10, Franklin-Simpson 2
Sutton Hyde went 2-for-4 with a home run, a triple and three RBIs to spark host Barren County to a 10-2 win against Franklin-Simpson on Thursday.
Jackson Reece was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs, Axel Dysholm was 2-for-3 with a home run, a double and two RBIs, and Aiden Keeney went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and an RBI for the Trojans.
Cameron Crawford started and earned the win after allowing one run over 3 1/3 innings. He struck out four.
Barren County (3-4) was set to host Grayson County on Friday.
Layne Alford went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI, Griff Banton was 2-for-3 and Carson Kelley added an RBI for the visiting Wildcats.
Franklin-Simpson (3-4) takes on Allen County-Scottsville in a Kentucky 2A sectional game Saturday at Logan County.
Owensboro Catholic 6, Greenwood 5
Greenwood dropped a 6-5 road decision to Owensboro Catholic on Thursday.
Rylan Graves led the visiting Gators with a 2-for-4 night, tallying a triple and two RBIs. John Kincaid drove in two runs and Jake Flickinger added an RBI.
Greenwood (5-1) hosts University Heights for a doubleheader on Saturday.
Butler County 6, Ohio County 5
Homestanding Butler County prevailed 6-5 in nine innings against Ohio County on Thursday.
Brycen Mode went 3-for-4 with a double to lead the Bears. Sam Hyatt was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, Justin Castlen went 2-for-6 with an RBI, Brock Henderson notched a double and an RBI, and Eli Oaks and Will Amos each added an RBI in the win.
Oaks pitched two perfect innings of relief for the win, striking out two.
Butler County (3-4) was set to host Warren Central on Friday.
Edmonson County 3, ACS 2
Hunter Wilson went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs to help host Edmonson County top Allen County-Scottsville 3-2 on Thursday.
Eli Meredith was 2-for-3 and Drew Pierce added an RBI for the host Wildcats.
Tyson Meredith fired a complete game to earn the win, allowing two runs while striking out eight.
Edmonson County (4-2) hosts Warren Central on Monday.
Eli Stamper went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Colton Sullivan added a double for ACS (1-5), which faces Franklin-Simpson in the Kentucky 2A sectionals Saturday at Logan County.
