Police investigating theft of eight Corvettes from BG assembly plant

One man is in jail after personnel with the Bowling Green Police Department and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office investigated the theft of eight Corvettes from the General Motors Bowling Green Assembly Plant yesterday.

Ronnie Ward, public information officer for BGPD, stated via text last night that all eight cars have been located.

Deantae Cortez Walker, 21, of Westland, Michigan, is charged with receiving stolen property $10,000 or more, fleeing and evading police third degree, first degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest. Ward stated that Walker was caught while trying to move the cars out of town.

Walker was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail and is being held under a $10,000 cash bond.

BGPD is attempting to identify the others involved.
