Two Lady Tops finish in top 10 at Spring Break Shootout

Western Kentucky’s women’s golf team moved one spot up the leaderboard on Tuesday at the Spring Break Shootout to finish sixth at Lake Jovita Golf Club in Dade City, Florida.
Catie Craig and Sydney Hackett both finished in the top 10 for the Lady Tops.
Florida Gulf Coast won the tournament at 14-over par 866, while WKU finished at 45-over 897. New Mexico State’s Emma Bunch won the event at 4-under 209, one of two players in the entire field under par.
Craig (72), Hackett (72) and Nina McMurtrey (73) all had their best rounds of the tournament on Tuesday.
For Craig, it was her 19th career top-10 finish in 37 career events. For Hackett, it was her ninth top 10 in 29 events. Hackett has finished in the top 10 in all three events this spring.
Craig played the par 5s at 3-under, tied for fourth-best in the field, while Hackett traversed the par 4s at 3-over, tied for eighth-best in the field.
Both Hackett (36) and Craig (35) were in the top 10 for pars during the event, too.
As a team, the Lady Tops led the field with 163 pars. They were seventh with 24 birdies.
WKU is back in action on March 31 for the start of the Coach Mo Classic, hosted by Furman University in St. Augustine, Florida.
