Barren County senior guard Tate Spillman played a big role in a big upset, helping to lead the Trojans to a 58-44 win over Warren Central in Monday’s Region 4 Tournament.

Spillman finished with 17 points, including a 3-pointer during a 14-2 run to open the game, as the Trojans eliminated the defending region champs.

“It was definitely good to get off to a hot start, get other people going too, and then make some shots down the stretch,” Spillman said. “On the defensive end of the floor we did our role, did what we were supposed to, and got the job done.”

Barren County advances to face Clinton County in the region semifinals at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
