Bowling Green sophomore guard Maddie Davenport provided a spark for the Lady Purples in Monday’s 37-35 win over Todd County Central in the opening round of the Region 4 Tournament at E.A. Diddle Arena.

Davenport scored 12 points and added nine rebounds to help the Lady Purples move on in a rematch of last year’s Region 4 title game. Davenport had two 3s in the game, both of which gave Bowling Green the lead at the time.

She said she was just doing her part to help her team get the win.

“I’ve been working all season for times like these,” Davenport said. “It’s just what we practice for and just like every other game.”
