Western Kentucky women’s golf senior Catie Craig earned her eighth career Conference USA Golfer of the Week honor on Wednesday.

Craig finished second at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational on Sunday, leading the Lady Tops to the team victory in a deep, 15-team field that included No. 26 Florida and No. 69 Boston College.

For Craig, it was her third, top-two finish of the season in five events. Craig fired a 2-over par 218 for the tournament, with 43 pars – the most in the field. She has 15 top-five finishes in her career.

In the first round on Friday, Craig tallied 15 pars and two birdies. Her 15 pars were second-most in the field and her two birdies were tied for seventh. She played the par 4s at even par, tied for second-best in the field. Craig had 26 pars through two rounds, second-most in the 85-player field on Saturday. She was 1-over on the par 4s, third-best in the field, and had played all other holes at even par. In the final round, Craig earned 17 pars, helping her secure 43 total pars that led the field.

Craig and the Lady Tops are ranked inside the Top 70 this week and head to the UNF Invitational on March 3-4.
