Local swimmers earn top-10 finishes at state meet

Bowling Green finished tied for 10th and South Warren finished 12th at the state swimming and diving meet on Saturday at the Lancaster Aquatic Center at the University of Kentucky in Lexington.

Several local swimmers earned top-10 finishes.

Bowling Green’s Warren Woodall finished fifth in the 50-yard freestyle and placed eighth in the 100 butterfly. Woodall joined Matias Verduzco, Alfonso Verduzco and James Dinan to finish eighth in the 400 freestyle relay and ninth in the 200 freestyle relay.

South Warren’s Lari Skeric finished eighth in the 50 freestyle, while South Warren’s Kenan Aganovic finished ninth in the 500 freestyle.

Skeric and Aganovic joined Noah Walters and Brian Bosse to finish sixth in the 400 freestyle relay and 10th in the 200 medley relay.
