Martha Poteet

BOWLING GREEN – Martha Jean Poteet, 92, of Bowling Green peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025. Martha was born in Robertson County, Tennessee on August 2nd, 1932 to the late Robert Candia and Estelle (Kitchens) Canida. Martha was a dedicated member of White Stone Quarry Baptist Church and adored all children, especially her grandchildren.

Martha is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter Poteet, her parents, two daughters; Barbara Adamson and Marsha Elaine Poteet, 6 sisters, and 2 brothers.

Ms. Martha leaves behind to cherish her memory a son, Walter William Poteet (Effie), a daughter, Sandra Prewitt, 12 Grandchildren, 25 Great-Grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel on Friday, February 21st, 2025 from 4pm until 8pm, and will continue on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025 from 9am until 12pm noon, funeral services will begin at Noon. Burial to follow in Bowling Green Gardens.
