We reap what we sow

As I have lamented in the past, our presidents are transitioning into dictators. The Supreme Court essentially has sworn off any responsibility for using the legal system to prevent them from doing whatever their narcissistic heart’s desire. There is no crime or seditious activity they can commit that they have to be accountable for … no matter how injurious it is to the country or its lauded principles of democracy.
It did not have to be like this but we allowed, no, perpetrated it by voting for the same representatives over and over again until they are well past prime. We have permitted their goal to become the accretion of as much money and prestige as possible by overlooking their apparent lack of independent thought and disregarding their serial transgressions.
The most effective way for them to gain this financial windfall and power is to ALWAYS do what The Party and party President say. It does not matter if lies, deceit, complicity, and “forgetfulness” are necessary to achieve those ends as representation loses relevance once the seat has been purchased. They are too weak to decline “gifts” and privileged information, and dutifully bend to their king’s whims.
Representation alone never moves you up the coveted ladder of immunity.
Congress people are not necessarily against doing what’s best for the country, it’s just that the path is not nearly as rewarding as boot licking the person who can advance them, rendering the Legislative branch effectively useless. You have to make the kitten purr.
So, we can bury our heads like, apparently, the majority of our Representatives who hate the other side like it was a fraternity exercise or, for once, expel the “yes-criants” and replace them with people who have the courage to not be willing slaves to their political overseers. If we don’t, we deserve the Great American Wane that I believe will follow.
