Conference USA announced its Softball Players of the Week on Monday, with Western Kentucky earning both Pitcher of the Week and Freshman of the Week honors.

WKU sophomore right-hander Rylan Smith earns her first accolade of the season after leading the Hilltoppers to their first 5-0 tournament weekend since 2022. The Tennessee native posted an impressive 0.84 ERA over 10.2 innings of work and allowing only one earned run over the weekend.

She also collected a team-high nine strikeouts on the weekend, four of which came in her 5.2 inning performance against Troy. Opponents posted a .184 batting average against her and were only able to get one extra-base hit.

The Tops return home on Sunday for their home opener at the Hilltopper Classic. First pitch is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. against Gardner-Webb.
