The weekend flooding in southcentral Kentucky put many people at risk, including a camper at Beech Bend who required rescuing by first responders.
The Richardsville Volunteer Fire Department posted on its Facebook page that it received a water rescue call at 8:47 a.m. Sunday at the Beech Bend Campground.
First responders launched one of the department’s boats and found a person who had climbed on top of their camper to avoid rising floodwaters at the campground, which is situated near Barren River.
The camper was rescued from the area, according to the fire department, which was assisted at the scene by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and Warren County Emergency Management.
