BOWLING GREEN – William Paul Garrett age 80 of Bowling Geen, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning surrounded by his loving family, at his home. Paul as he was known, was born in Bowling Green to the late Wilbur and Exie Milam Garrett.
He is also preceded in death by his Daughter, Lisa Garrett, several brothers and sisters. Paul was the in charge of Facilities / Maintenance for Christ United Methodist Church and Managed several Restaurants in Bowling Green, Jerry’s, and Po Folks, just for a start. He loved fishing and camping. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle.
His faith was important to him. He loved his church family, and would sit and sing gospel songs all the time. He was never afraid to show his faith and showed it by his actions.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Linda Sue Garrett. Sons, Terry Garrett and Eric Garrett (Kathy) both of Bowling Green. Grandchildren, Adam Garrett (Lindsey), Sarah Lockwood, Dakota Garrett and Hayden Garrett. Great grandchildren, Eryn, Levi, Greyson, Jasmine, Curtis, and Parker. Sisters and Brothers, Georgia Hudson, David Garrett (Glenda), Johnny Garrett, Larry Garrett (Cynthia), and Tommy Garrett (Carolyn). Several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Brothers and sisters-in-law, Phyllis Miller, Reva Roberson (Ted), L.C. Cosby (Linda), Pam Moncrief (Eddie), and Danny Cosby (Glenda).
A Celebration of Paul’s Life will be held on Saturday from 11:00 am till 2:00 pm, with the Service starting at 2:00 pm at the J.C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel.
