Bowling Green junior Riley Crowe got to celebrate a pair of wins in her home pool during Saturday’s opening round of the state swimming and diving meet at Bowling Green High School.

Crowe earned wins in the 200-yard freestyle and the 500 free to advance to next week’s state finals in Lexington.

Crowe, who said she is really excited about getting to swim in Lexington, said it is an amazing feeling winning in your home pool.

“Hitting the wall and seeing first by my name, it’s just everything you have worked for,” Crowe said. “You realize hey, it worked and it paid off and now I will be able to go to (the state finals). It’s really nice.”
