A pair of standout area boys’ basketball players eclipsed the 1,000-point career scoring mark Thursday night.
Warren East’s Kaleb Prince and Foundation Christian Academy’s Logan Nix, both juniors, each achieved the milestone.
Prince, who needed 15 points to reach the 1,000-point plateau, scored 20 points in the Raiders’ 73-63 home win against the Bluegrass Blazers home school program.
Prince became the 13th member of Warren East’s 1,000-point club.
Nix became the first FCA boys’ basketball player to eclipse 1,000 points in his career during the Falcons’ 73-41 road win against Currey Ingram Academy on Thursday night in Brentwood, Tennessee.
Nix scored 19 points in the win as FCA improved to 17-4 this season.
“Logan is a vital part of our team and is a strong leader both on and off the court,” FCA coach David Wadlington said in a news release. “I am glad to see his hard work paying off.”
Foundation Christian was slated to host River Christian Academy on Saturday, with Nix set to be recognized for his achievement in a pregame ceremony.
Warren East (14-9) was set to take on Louisville Fairdale in the Don Cunningham Classic on Saturday at LaRue County.
