Williams leads Lady Cats to road win

Edmonson County junior Cariann Williams notched a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds to lead the visiting Lady Cats to a 64-43 girls’ basketball win against Logan County on Monday night.

Julie Norris added 12 points, Kennadi Swihart scored 11 points and Jenna Cook finished with 10 points for Edmonson County (10-8), which shot 7-of-14 (50%) from 3-point range.

Brenley Adler just missed a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds for the host Lady Cougars.

Edmonson County was set to host Daviess County on Tuesday night.

BOYS

Logan County 77, Edmonson County 63

Samson Hightower notched a double-double with 35 points and 15 rebounds to lead host Logan County to a 77-63 win against Edmonson County on Monday.

Nicholas Thomas chipped in with 11 points and Nicholas Blann had eight points and eight rebounds in the win.

Logan County (10-8) was set to host South Warren on Tuesday.

Kollin Doyle scored 19 points to lead the visiting Wildcats. Braden Wright added 11 points and Tyler Wilson had nine points for Edmonson County (11-8), which hosts District 12 rival Trinity (Whitesville) on Friday.

FCA 78, North Hardin Classical 15

Logan Nix and Mason Moore each posted double-doubles as homestanding Foundation Christian Academy rolled to a 78-15 win against North Hardin Classical on Monday.

Nix finished with 22 points and 13 rebounds, while Moore tallied 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Falcons in the win.

William Cummins also hit double digits for FCA (15-4) with 14 points and Griffin Lohden added eight points.

The Falcons host Cloverport on Friday.

Butler County 75, Hancock County 31

Justin Castlen and Trever Deweese combined for 47 points to pace the host Bears to a 75-31 win against Hancock County on Monday.

Castlen finished with 24 points and Deweese had 23 points.

Briar Griffin and Curtis Murphy added 10 points each for Butler County (11-9), which was scheduled to play at Breckinridge County on Tuesday.

Logan County (10-9) was slated to host South Warren on Tuesday.
