Alvaton – Larry Gene Kidwell, 78, passed away peacefully on January 22nd surrounded by his loving family. He was proud to be a U.S. Air Force veteran as an electronics expert. After his service, he built a successful career as Director of Sales in the point-of-purchase display industry, earning national recognition and holding a patent for his innovative designs.

Larry and Linda enjoyed traveling, including several over-seas adventures together. His favorite place in the world was Barcelona. He loved reading Louis L’Amour Westerns, golfing, solving Sudoku and crossword puzzles, and building R/C airplanes. As a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he cherished time with his family. He built a playhouse and engineered go-Karts with his children. He also enjoyed coaching Little League during their younger years.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda; his children, Jenny Sheffield (Bradley) and Matthew Kidwell (Trenda); his grandchildren, Mia (Willian), Alaina, Emma Claire, Joshua (Sophia), and Tatum; his sisters, Dana Hunt and Donna Kidwell; as well as several nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

Larry will be remembered for his creativity, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family.

The funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel with burial in Smiths Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 am – 1 pm at the funeral home.
