A Bowling Green man wanted on federal drug charges for more than a year was arrested Tuesday.
Dennis R. Richardson, 42, was arrested on a warrant charging him with possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking, according to the Bowling Green-Warren County Drug Task Force.
The task force said that Richardson was a fugitive who had evaded arrest on the federal charges since June 2023.
Task force agents and members of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, with assistance from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and the Bowling Green Police Department K-9 Unit, obtained a search warrant through surveillance and investigation for a Plano-area residence that Richardson was believed to have frequented.
The warrant was executed at the Goodrum Road home Tuesday afternoon and law enforcement found Richardson hiding in a kitchen bar cabinet, the task force said.
Police also arrested Rana H. Ghayoumi, 40, of Bowling Green as part of the investigation, charging her with second-degree hindering prosecution or apprehension.
According to an arrest citation, officers had been to the residence and made traffic stops on Ghayoumi for the past several months in prior unsuccessful attempts to locate Richardson.
When officers came to her home Tuesday, Ghayoumi told them Richardson was not there and she had not been in contact with him for several weeks, the citation said.
Police executed the search warrant and Ghayoumi continued to deny Richardson was inside the home until he was found, the citation said.
Richardson was scheduled to appear Wednesday in U.S. District Court before a magistrate judge, while Ghayoumi was released from Warren County Regional Jail on her own recognizance ahead of an arraignment set for March 6 in Warren District Court.
